Wouldn’t it be great if we were all focused on what we were brought here to do? Each of us has a purpose to complete, a destiny to fulfill – so why is it that we are so often pulled away or distracted from our appointed task? I for one struggle intensely with staying on track. It may be ADD, or a highly creative personality, but I often say that my brain is like a spastic butterfly that has landed on a bad batch of cocaine. My mind is the toughest thing to control. I wake up with a specific agenda for the day, and before you know it, I am caught up in a myriad of projects that have absolutely nothing to do with my original intentions. The goal is to allow the distractions to fade into the background and look only at the path I want to be on. As I focus more intently on my desired path, distractions become less visible, quieter, less intrusive. Meditation helps, so does honoring the gift inside of me. By focusing on my skills and talents, I can let go of the tag a longs, the things that don’t belong in my quest to become a better me. That way I can readily reach the garden of completion and joy.
